Ach_dasta!<\/em> hat mit drei migrantischen Studierenden der Hochschule Darmstadt gesprochen. Sie erz\u00e4hlen, wie sie sich seit der Ver\u00f6ffentlichung der Correctiv<\/em>-Recherche in Deutschland und an der Hochschule f\u00fchlen: Was ihnen Angst macht, Hoffnung gibt und was sie sich von der Studierendenschaft und der h_da w\u00fcnschen. Die Hochschule Darmstadt teilte am 22. Januar den Aufruf zur Demonstration f\u00fcr Rechtsstaat und Demokratie auf der Homepage und auf Instagram. <\/p>\n\n\n\n *Namen ge\u00e4ndert<\/p>\n\n\n\n Marcus*, 24, studiert am Fachbereich Mathematik & Naturwissenschaften<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Illustration: Margo Sibel Koneberg<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cDie Rechercheergebnisse haben mich, um ehrlich zu sein, nicht schockiert. Mir war bewusst, dass die AfD brutal rechts ist. Dass sie Deutsche mit Migrationsgeschichte vertreiben m\u00f6chten, liegt auf der Hand, wenn selbst der schwarze AfD-Politiker Achille Demagbo sagt, man darf Deutschland nicht mit Afrikanern \u00fcberfluten. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Mir ist auch bewusst, dass Personen scheinbarer \u2018mittlerer Parteien\u2019 rechts sind oder rechte Gesinnung teilen. Friedrich Merz (CDU) bedient sich offen an rechtem Vokabular und spricht von \u2018kleinen Paschas\u2019, um Personen mit Migrationsgeschichte oder Ausl\u00e4nder alle als Kriminelle zu bezeichnen. Es wundert mich nicht, dass es Leute in der CDU gibt, die aus \u00dcberzeugung rechts sind und eine Deportation bef\u00fcrworten. Ich denke, wir alle w\u00e4ren in einer Form von dieser \u2018Remigration\u2019 betroffen<\/strong>. Weil es bei dem Geheimtreffen darum ging, jeden <\/em>zu deportieren, der nicht \u2018deutsch<\/em>\u2019 genug ist – was auch immer das bedeuten soll. Was mir momentan vor allem Angst macht, sind die Wahlergebnisse. Bei der Landtagswahl<\/a> haben vor allem junge Menschen die AfD gepusht, das finde ich be\u00e4ngstigend. Laut aktuellen Wahlprognosen w\u00fcrde fast jede:r f\u00fcnfte Deutsche die AfD, eine rechtsradikale und in weiten Teilen rechtsextreme Partei, w\u00e4hlen. Das finde ich creepy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Mit meinen Freunden haben wir \u00fcber die Recherche gesprochen und sind auch demonstrieren gegangen. Die Demos geben mir Hoffnung. Vor allem, dass Menschen in Th\u00fcringen auf die Stra\u00dfe gehen, wo der erste AfD-B\u00fcrgermeister gew\u00e4hlt wurde, finde ich erstaunlich.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Weder durch den Fachbereich noch durch die Hochschule habe ich in irgendeiner Form eine Stellungnahme zu der Recherche mitbekommen. Die h_da ist ja nicht mal auf X. Ein Statement w\u00e4re angebracht gewesen. Zu sagen: Wir stehen f\u00fcr unsere migrantisch und ausl\u00e4ndischen Studierenden ein. Damit h\u00e4tte man sich auch f\u00fcr die Demokratie positioniert. Ich w\u00fcrde mir w\u00fcnschen, dass mehr Seminarangebote, vielleicht ja SUK-Kurse, zu Rechtsextremismus geschaffen werden, wo vermittelt wird, welche politischen Spektren es gibt, wie man mit rechten und rechtsextremen Tendenzen umgeht. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Au\u00dferdem muss besser kommuniziert werden, wo ich mich melden kann, wenn mein Kommilitone rechtsextreme, diskriminierende Tendenzen hat. Dass es Beratungsstellen<\/a> f\u00fcr Benachteiligungserfahrungen gibt, wei\u00df ich – die findet man aber nur, wenn man aktiv sucht. Oktober hat mich als j\u00fcdischer Deutscher mit Familie in Israel viel mehr ersch\u00fcttert, als die Correctiv<\/em>-Recherche. Das war irgendwie absehbar. Wenn sogar der Verfassungsschutz sagt, dass die AfD in Teilen gesichert rechtsextrem ist, muss das ja irgendwo herkommen. Diskriminierungserfahrungen begegneten mir auf pers\u00f6nlicher Ebene zuletzt in der Schulzeit: Ein Mitsch\u00fcler sagte mir, ich sollte in die Gaskammer gehen. Meine Uroma wurde in Auschwitz ermordet. Sowas sitzt tief. Trotzdem finde ich es diskriminierend, wenn Personen auf den sozialen Medien antisemitische Inhalte teilen. Das macht zum Beispiel Tarek Ba\u00e9<\/a>, der am 7. Oktober die Hamas als \u201cmilitante Pal\u00e4stinenser\u201d bezeichnete und das antisemtische Narrativ des \u2018Kinderm\u00f6rders-Israel<\/a>\u2019 reproduziert. Kein Jude kann in Deutschland seinen Davidstern offen tragen, ohne direkt als israelischer Botschafter verstanden zu werden. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Auf dem Campus merke ich keine explizite Form der Solidarit\u00e4t – weder zum 7. Oktober noch zu den Rechercheergebnissen. Wir hatten auch keine Lehrveranstaltung, in der ausf\u00fchrlich Raum f\u00fcr so eine Diskussion war. Nur auf den Demoaufruf, der fachbereichsintern geteilt wurde, hatte sich ein Studierender kritisch ge\u00e4u\u00dfert und Neutralit\u00e4t der Hochschule angeprangert. Daf\u00fcr hat er Gegenwind von ein paar Profs bekommen, dabei blieb es aber.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Kaya*, 25 studiert am Fachbereich Gestaltung<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Illustration: Margo Sibel Koneberg<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cVon der Correctiv<\/em>-Recherche habe ich \u00fcber Instagram erfahren. Ich wei\u00df noch, dass ich Pausen machen musste, weil es in Teilen triggernd war – und trotzdem alles andere als \u00fcberraschend. Wir kennen und nehmen wahr, wie im Alltag gegen Muslime gehetzt wird. Spricht man das an, begeben sich Deutsche in eine Abwehr- und Verteidigungshaltung. Ich kenne das aus meinem ganzen Leben. In der Schule hat mir eine Lehrerin gesagt, ich kann meiner Mutter nicht trauen, weil sie T\u00fcrkin ist – und im Kopf der Lehrerin automatisch auch eine Muslima, die mir fr\u00fcher oder sp\u00e4ter das Kopftuch aufzwingen wird. Wir hatten ein Hakenkreuz an unser Haus geschmiert. So ein bisschen war Rechtsextremismus die ganze Zeit schon da – und wurde auch toleriert. Ich musste selbst darauf kommen, dass Rassismus nicht okay und vor allem nicht normal ist. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Mir geht es nicht gut, wie ich die politische Lage in Deutschland und in meinem pers\u00f6nlichen Umfeld wahrnehme. Diskriminierende, hassverbreitende Narrative werden normalisiert, weil sie nicht verurteilt werden. Wenn ich als queere migrantische Person Rassismus oder Queerfeindlichkeit angesprochen habe, wurde mit Abwehr reagiert. Mir wurde gesagt, ich sei hochsensibel, zu aggressiv und w\u00fcrde voreilige Schl\u00fcsse ziehen, als ich einen Nazi outgecalled habe. Viele denken, es reicht, im Stillen Personen zu verurteilen. Aber man muss Nazis als Nazis benennen – vor ihren Augen. Ich habe oft das Gef\u00fchl, dass Menschen sich feiern, wenn sie die AfD als Feind anerkennen und hochhalten k\u00f6nnen. Oft ist das aber nur auf die AfD fokussiert, die anderen Parteien fallen hinten runter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Ich w\u00fcrde mir w\u00fcnschen, dass uns egal ist, ob eine Person unserer Vermutung nach traumatisiert ist, vielleicht gerade ein schweres Leben hat und wir uns stattdessen darauf konzentrieren, in was f\u00fcr einem Kontext rechte und rechtsextreme Aussagen stehen. Durch verharmlosende Reaktionen auf Nazis normalisieren wir das Nazisein und rechte Narrative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Ich versuche dem entgegenzuwirken, indem ich Anspr\u00fcche, die auf mich als Betroffene projiziert werden, ablehne. Ich bin nicht zu aggressiv oder empfindlich, ihr seid zu unbetroffen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Zu den Demonstrationen habe ich ein gemischtes Gef\u00fchl. Mein Mitbewohner und ein anderes deutsches M\u00e4dchen haben die Demonstrationen gegen die AfD total gefeiert – ich f\u00fchle mich davon aber nur begrenzt unterst\u00fctzt. Es f\u00fchlt sich ein bisschen nach einer symbolischen Geste an. Viele Menschen f\u00fchlen sich nach \u2018ner Demo gut – und \u00e4ndern aber rein gar nichts daran, wie sie im privaten Umfeld mit dem Rechtsruck umgehen. Viele Menschen reproduzieren auf Demos ja auch Rassismus: Es macht ihnen total Spa\u00df, sich lustige Spr\u00fcche auf die Plakate zu schreiben und dann mit ihren \u2018Nazis raus, ich liebe D\u00f6ner\u2019-Schildern rumzulaufen. Klar ist es gut, dass viele Menschen auf die Stra\u00dfe gehen. Wir d\u00fcrfen das aber nicht glorifizieren. Wenn wir etwas Sinnvolles davon mitnehmen wollen, dann m\u00fcssen wir uns auch kritisch mit den Demonstrationen auseinandersetzen. Die Reaktion meines Mitbewohners war erstmal, alles, was ich kritisiert habe, abzustreiten. Er meinte dann, wie wichtig es sei, miteinander zu reden. Das Ironische: Er hatte mir ja zuvor \u00fcberhaupt nicht zugeh\u00f6rt, sondern mir alles abgesprochen. Wor\u00fcber soll man denn reden? Nur dar\u00fcber, wie toll die Demos sind? <\/p>\n\n\n\n Ich k\u00f6nnte, wenn ich wollte, wahnsinnig privilegiert und blind durchs Leben gehen. Ich bin diskriminiert als lesbische Frau mit t\u00fcrkischer Migrationsgeschichte. Dass ich lesbisch bin, sieht man mir nicht an – genau so wenig wie meinen Migrationshintergrund. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Einmal habe ich mitbekommen, wie sich ein \u00e4lterer Mann in meinem Verein stark antimuslimisch ge\u00e4u\u00dfert und alle T\u00fcrk:innen und T\u00fcrkischst\u00e4mmige mit Terroristen gleichgesetzt hat. Da wurde mir bewusst: Er hat das gemacht, weil er mich nicht als Mensch mit muslimisch-t\u00fcrkischem Background erkannt hat. Und wenn ich das gewollt und emotional gekonnt h\u00e4tte, h\u00e4tte ich da diesen \u2018Du bist die Ausnahme\u2019-Cookie annehmen k\u00f6nnen. Ich h\u00e4tte seinen Rassismus tolerieren k\u00f6nnen, in der Illusion, dass er mich ausschlie\u00dft. Das kann ich aber nicht. Sowas macht mich w\u00fctend. Ich merke seitdem im Alltag regelm\u00e4\u00dfig, dass ich Menschen nicht vertrauen kann. Ich denke mir immer: Ihr seid nur nett, weil ich es noch nicht gewagt habe, den Finger in die Wunde zu stecken. Von der Hochschule w\u00fcnsche ich mir, dass sie mehr Pr\u00e4ventionsarbeit macht. They talk about how they feel in Germany and at the university since the publication of the Correctiv investigation: What scares them, gives them hope and what they want from the student body and h_da. I was aware that the AfD is brutally right-wing. It’s obvious that they want to expel Germans with a history of migration when even the black AfD politician Achille Demagbo says that Germany must not be flooded with Africans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I am also aware that people from seemingly ‚middle parties‘ are on the right or share right-wing views. Friedrich Merz (CDU) openly uses right-wing vocabulary and speaks of ‚little pashas‘ to describe people with a history of migration or foreigners as criminals. I am not surprised that there are people in the CDU who are right-wing out of conviction and are in favor of deportation. I think we would all be affected in some way by this ‚remigration‘. Because the secret meeting was about deporting anyone who is not ‚German‘ enough – whatever that means. What scares me most at the moment are the election results. In the state elections, young people in particular pushed the AfD, which I find frightening. I would like to see more seminars, perhaps even SUC courses, on right-wing extremism, where students are taught about the different political spectrums and how to deal with right-wing and far-right tendencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n There also needs to be better communication about where I can go if my fellow student has right-wing extremist, discriminatory tendencies. I know that there are advice centers for people who have experienced discrimination – but you can only find them if you actively look for them. That was somehow foreseeable. If even the Office for the Protection of the Constitution says that parts of the AfD are certainly right-wing extremist, that has to come from somewhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In my opinion, the research shows that we should definitely talk about banning the AfD or even revoking Bj\u00f6rn H\u00f6cke’s basic rights. What scares me about right-wing extremism are the elections in the new federal states this year. But what I find worse is that the AfD is pushing the boundaries of what can be said very hard. The discourse is becoming more and more right-wing: Merz and his dentist’s statement, as well as the chancellor, who has himself dramatically photographed by Der Spiegel. Caption: ‚We have to deport on a grand scale‘. That plays into the hands of right-wing extremists like the AfD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The last time I experienced discrimination on a personal level was when I was at school: a classmate told me I should go to the gas chamber. My great-grandmother was murdered in Auschwitz. That kind of thing goes deep. Nevertheless, I find it discriminatory when people share anti-Semitic content on social media. Take Tarek Ba\u00e9, for example, who described Hamas as „militant Palestinians“ on October 7 and reproduced the anti-Semitic narrative of ‚child murderer Israel‘. No Jew in Germany can openly wear their Star of David without being directly understood as an Israeli ambassador.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I haven’t noticed any explicit form of solidarity on campus – neither on October 7 nor on the research results. We also didn’t have a course in which there was much room for such a discussion. Only one student responded critically to the call for a demonstration, which was shared within the department, and denounced the university’s neutrality. I remember having to take breaks because it was triggering in parts – and yet anything but surprising. We know and perceive how Muslims are incited in everyday life. If you talk about it, Germans take a defensive and defensive stance. I know this from my whole life. At school, a teacher told me that I couldn’t trust my mother because she was Turkish – and in the teacher’s mind, she was automatically a Muslim who would sooner or later force me to wear a headscarf. We had a swastika painted on our house. Right-wing extremism was there all the time – and was tolerated. I had to realize for myself that racism is not okay and, above all, not normal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I don’t feel good about how I perceive the political situation in Germany and in my personal environment. Discriminatory, hate-spreading narratives are normalized because they are not condemned. When I, as a queer migrant person, addressed racism or queer hostility, I was met with defensiveness. I was told I was highly sensitive, too aggressive and jumping to conclusions when I called out a Nazi. Many people think it’s enough to silently condemn people. But you have to call Nazis Nazis – in front of their eyes. I often get the feeling that people celebrate when they recognize the AfD as the enemy and can hold it up. However, this is often only focused on the AfD, with the other parties falling behind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I would like us not to care whether we think a person is traumatized or perhaps having a difficult life and instead focus on the context of right-wing and far-right statements. By trivializing reactions to Nazis, we normalize Nazism and right-wing narratives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I try to counteract this by rejecting claims that are projected onto me as an affected person. I am not too aggressive or sensitive, you are too unaffected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I have mixed feelings about the demonstrations. My flatmate and another German girl totally celebrated the demonstrations against the AfD – but I only feel supported by them to a limited extent. It feels a bit like a symbolic gesture. Many people feel good after a demonstration – but they don’t change anything about how they deal with the shift to the right in their private lives. Many people also reproduce racism at demonstrations: they really enjoy writing funny slogans on their placards and then walking around with their ‚Nazis out, I love kebabs‘ signs. Of course it’s good that so many people are taking to the streets. But we shouldn’t glorify it. If we want to take something meaningful away from it, then we also have to take a critical look at the demonstrations. My flatmate’s initial reaction was to deny everything I criticized. He then said how important it was to talk to each other. The ironic thing was that he hadn’t listened to me at all beforehand, but had denied everything. What should we talk about? Just about how great the demos are?<\/p>\n\n\n\n If I wanted to, I could go through life incredibly privileged and blind. I am discriminated against as a lesbian woman with a Turkish migration history. You can’t tell that I’m a lesbian – just like you can’t tell that I have a migration background.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I once overheard an older man in my club making strongly anti-Muslim comments and equating all Turks and people of Turkish origin with terrorists. That’s when I realized that he did that because he didn’t recognize me as a person with a Muslim-Turkish background. And if I had wanted to and been emotionally able to, I could have accepted this ‚you’re the exception‘ cookie. I could have tolerated his racism, under the illusion that he was excluding me. But I can’t do that. That makes me angry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Correctiv research shows: Nazis also want to deport migrants with German passports. I was extremely traumatized by the fact that I rejected the cookie and saw it as an insult. You are given the option to be a token and if you refuse, you become scum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Since then, I regularly realize in everyday life that I can’t trust people. I always think to myself: you’re only being nice because I haven’t dared to stick my finger in the wound yet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What gives me hope is actually not much more than individual people in my life. For example, my girlfriend, to whom I have never had to explain why individual statements are problematic. She feels it just like I do, even though she is not affected by racism. In any case, the demonstrations don’t give me any hope because I’m afraid of hypocritical statements. I’m afraid of how protected my family will ever be in Germany and whether I can really be responsible for bringing children into this world. It worries me that there might not be a really safe place for me. Trusting people is associated with a lot of fear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I would like the university to do more prevention work. I made an enquiry once, but it came to nothing.“<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die Recherche zeigt meiner Meinung nach, dass man auf jeden Fall \u00fcber ein AfD-Verbot oder auch dar\u00fcber, Bj\u00f6rn H\u00f6cke die Grundrechte zu entziehen, sprechen sollte. Was mir in Bezug auf Rechtsextremismus Angst macht, sind die Wahlen in den neuen Bundesl\u00e4ndern dieses Jahr. Schlimmer finde ich aber, dass die AfD die sagbaren Grenzen sehr doll verschiebt. Der Diskurs wird immer rechter: Merz und seine Zahnarztaussage, genauso der Kanzler, der sich dramatisch vom Spiegel ablichten l\u00e4sst. Unterzeile: \u2018Wir m\u00fcssen im gro\u00dfen Stil abschieben.\u2019 Das spielt Rechtsextremen wie der AfD in die Karten. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die Correctiv<\/em>-Recherche zeigt: Nazis wollen auch migrantische Personen mit deutschem Pass deportieren. Dadurch, dass ich den Cookie abgelehnt habe und das als Beleidigung angesehen habe, wurde ich extremst traumatisiert. Du kriegst die Option, ein Token zu sein und wenn du dich dagegen wehrst, wirst du Abschaum. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Was mir Hoffnung gibt, sind eigentlich nicht viel mehr als einzelne Menschen in meinem Leben. Zum Beispiel meine Freundin, der ich nie erkl\u00e4ren musste, wieso einzelne Aussagen problematisch sind. Sie sp\u00fcrt das genau wie ich, obwohl sie nicht von Rassismus betroffen ist. Die Demos geben mir auf jeden Fall keine Hoffnung, weil ich Angst vor heuchlerischen Bekundungen habe. Ich f\u00fcrchte mich davor, wie gesch\u00fctzt meine Familie in Deutschland jemals sein wird und ob ich wirklich verantworten kann, Kinder in diese Welt zu setzen. Es beunruhigt mich, dass es f\u00fcr mich m\u00f6glicherweise keinen wirklich sicheren Ort geben wird. Menschen zu vertrauen, ist mit viel Angst verbunden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
