Kaffee und Kiffen statt Kaffee und Kippen: Seit dem 1. April ist der Besitz von bis zu 25 Gramm Cannabis f\u00fcr Vollj\u00e4hrige zum Eigenkonsum legal. Was bedeutet das f\u00fcr Studierende, die zuvor schon gekifft haben? Und: Was hat sich seit der Legalisierung f\u00fcr sie ge\u00e4ndert?\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bartisch, Siebtr\u00e4ger, Kaffeem\u00fchle: In Adriels WG-K\u00fcche sieht es aus wie in einem Coffeeshop. Im Hintergrund laufen Jazz Beats. Es ist Sonntag, Ruhetag – au\u00dferdem ein Tag nach 420 (\u201cFourtwenty\u201d), dem internationalen Kiffertag.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDo you want fruity beans or chocolate?\u201d, fragt Adriel und h\u00e4lt zwei Packungen Kaffeebohnen hoch. \u201cIf I choose fruity, can I pick which berry?\u201d, antwortet sein Freund Adit grinsend. Sie lachen laut. Die beiden kennen sich durch die Indonesische Community in Darmstadt, verbringen viel Zeit miteinander und rauchen mindestens einmal pro Woche einen Joint zusammen. Adriel studiert Architektur an der Hochschule Darmstadt, Adit arbeitet. 420 verbrachten sie trotz des Regenwetters auf dem Fr\u00fchlingsfest in Darmstadt. Wo liegt der der Ursprung des inoffiziellen Kiffertags? \u201cI don\u2019t know where it came from, but I do know how we can keep celebrating it\u201d, antwortet Adit verschmitzt. Laut SPIEGEL<\/a> handelt es sich bei 420 urspr\u00fcnglich um die Uhrzeit 16:20 Uhr. Diese entwickelt sich zu einem Codewort f\u00fcr das Kiffen, weil man sich zu diesem Zeitpunkt zum gemeinsamen Rauchen traf. W\u00e4hrend an US-amerikanischen Universit\u00e4ten der Tag besonders von Studierenden gefeiert wird, gilt der 20. April in Deutschland inoffiziell als Tag zum \u201cKiffen gegen Rechts\u201d. Der Grund: Hitlers Geburtstag war auch am 20. April.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Auf dem K\u00fcchentisch liegen Filter, Tabak und ein Grinder. W\u00e4hrend Adriel Kaffeebohnen mahlt, lehnt sein Freund an der Wand, nickt den Kopf zur Musik mit. \u201cSag, wo hast du den Bubatz?\u201d, fragt Adit. Adriel nickt mit dem Kopf Richtung Zimmer. \u201cGestern geholt\u201d, erkl\u00e4rt er, \u201cman, they were staring at me in the bus because of the smell!\u201d Knapp vier Gramm hat er von einem Bekannten gekauft, der selbst anbaut. Aktueller Marktpreis: Zehn Euro pro Gramm. Adit kommt mit einer zugeknoteten Plastikt\u00fcte und pinken Longpapes wieder. \u201cI\u2019m actually his personal roller\u201d, erkl\u00e4rt er mir und dreht grinsend den Joint. Adriel ist mit dem Kaffee besch\u00e4ftigt. \u201cMeine Karriere hat angefangen, das Studium ist erstmal zuende\u201d, erz\u00e4hlt Adit, \u201cich f\u00fchle mich irgendwie organisierter und strukturierter.\u201d Das sei anders gewesen, als die beiden sich in der Unibib kennengelernt haben. Adit habe sich gef\u00fchlt, als hielte er einen Winterschlaf. Jetzt arbeitet er Vollzeit in der \u00dcberwachungsorganisation f\u00fcr den Kfz-Verkeher. \u201cDie Stra\u00dfenverkehrsordnung ist meine Bibel\u201d, sagt er, \u201cIt\u2019s so thick, you could kill a guy with it.\u201d Adriel grinst seinen Freund an. \u201cThat\u2019s what she said.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Als er den Kaffee auf den Tisch stellt, sagt er: \u201cFirst thing I noticed since Legalisierung: Everyone smokes at Luisenplatz.\u201d Er lacht. Auch vor dem Staatstheater sei ein Treffpunkt f\u00fcr Kiffer. Ihre ersten Joints rauchten die beiden jungen M\u00e4nner als sie Anfang 20 waren. Adriel mit Freunden und Adit mit seiner Band. \u201cVor 20 h\u00e4tte ich mich nicht getraut\u201d, gibt Adit zu, \u201cKiffen hat irreversible Konsequenzen f\u00fcr dein Gehirn, wenn es noch in der Entwicklung ist.\u201d Auch der passive Cannabiskonsum, wie etwa das Einatmen von Rauch, kann f\u00fcr Minderj\u00e4hrige gesundheitliche Risiken bedeuten, schreibt die Tagesschau<\/a>.\u00a0

\u201cSo, what should we call her?\u201d, fragt Adit. Er h\u00e4lt den rosafarbenen Joint zwischen beiden Fingern und betrachtet ihn. Adriel lacht und nippt am Kaffee. Ob er anders sei, wenn er bekifft ist, fragt er seinen Freund. \u201cNur langsamer\u201d, antwortet Adit. Adriel nickt. Manchmal sei er paranoid, weil er das Gef\u00fchl habe, ihm folge ein Geist, erz\u00e4hlt er. Aber dieser Moment gehe immer schnell vorbei. Eine Studie<\/a> zeigt: Der Konsum von Cannabis kann sowohl bei psychisch kranken als auch bei psychisch gesunden Menschen paranoide Vorstellungen hervorrufen und bestehende Verfolgungsangst verst\u00e4rken. Das liegt daran, dass das THC (Tetrohydrocannabinol) unangenehme Gef\u00fchle und au\u00dfergew\u00f6hnliche Wahrnehmungen f\u00f6rdert.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Was sich f\u00fcr die beiden seit der Legalisierung ver\u00e4ndert hat? Wenig. Adriel nippt an seinem Kaffee. Das habe er seinen Dealer schon gefragt, sagt er. Einen sp\u00fcrbaren Unterschied merke dieser nicht. \u201cThe gate is officially open now\u201d, wirft Adit ein. Zuvor habe auch schon jede:r gekifft, seit dem ersten April sei es nun legal. Zum Rauchen gehen die beiden \u00fcblicherweise auf die Feuertreppe, an diesem Tag jedoch zum h\u00f6chsten Stockwerk. Wegen der Aussicht. Wer im \u00f6ffentlichen Raum Cannabis konsumieren m\u00f6chte, muss sich an die 100-Meter-Regel halten: Im Radius rund um Schulen, Kitas, Spielpl\u00e4tze und Sportst\u00e4tten bleibt das Kiffen verboten. Auch an Bahnh\u00f6fen ist es nicht erlaubt. Eine Stellungnahme der hessischen Hochschulen und Universit\u00e4ten zum Kiffen gibt es nicht (Anm. d. Red.: Stand 24.04.24).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They laugh loudly. The two know each other through the Indonesian community in Darmstadt, spend a lot of time together, and smoke a joint at least once a week. Adriel is studying architecture at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences, while Adit works. Despite the rainy weather, they spent 420 at the Spring Festival in Darmstadt. Adit comes back with a tied-up plastic bag and pink rolling papers. \u201cI\u2019m actually his personal roller,\u201d he tells me, grinning as he rolls the joint. Adriel is busy with the coffee. The sun shines through the kitchen window. \u201cThe vibe is right,\u201d says Adit contentedly. \u201cThat\u2019s why they call it a coffee shop in Amsterdam,\u201d Adriel adds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMy career has started, the studies are over for now,\u201d Adit shares, \u201cI feel somehow more organized and structured.\u201d It was different when the two first met in the university library. Adit felt as if he was hibernating. Now he works full-time in the vehicle traffic surveillance organization. \u201cThe road traffic regulations are my bible,\u201d he says, \u201cIt\u2019s so thick, you could kill a guy with it.\u201d Adriel grins at his friend. \u201cThat\u2019s what she said.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As he places the coffee on the table, he says, \u201cFirst thing I noticed since legalization: Everyone smokes at Luisenplatz.\u201d He laughs. Even in front of the State Theatre, there\u2019s a meeting point for stoners. They both smoked their first joints when they were in their early twenties. Adriel with friends, and Adit with his band. \u201cI wouldn\u2019t have dared before 20,\u201d Adit admits, \u201cSmoking has irreversible consequences for your brain if it is still developing.\u201d Even passive marijuana smoke, such as inhaling smoke, can pose health risks for minors, reports Tagesschau<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSo, what should we call her?\u201d, asks Adit. He holds the pink joint between two fingers and looks at it. Adriel laughs and sips his coffee. Whether he’s different when high, he asks his friend. \u201cJust slower,\u201d Adit replies. Adriel nods. Sometimes he\u2019s paranoid because he feels like a ghost is following him, he shares. But that feeling always passes quickly. A study<\/a> shows: Consuming cannabis can induce paranoid thoughts in both mentally ill and mentally healthy individuals and intensify existing fears of persecution. This is due to THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) promoting unpleasant feelings and unusual perceptions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What has changed for them since legalization? Not much. Adriel sips his coffee. He’s already asked his dealer, he says. He hasn’t noticed any significant difference. \u201cThe gate is officially open now,\u201d Adit throws in. Even before April 1st, everyone was already smoking, now it’s just legal. They usually smoke on the fire escape, but on this day, they go to the top floor for the view. Anyone who wants to consume cannabis in public must adhere to the 100-meter rule: Smoking is prohibited within a radius around schools, daycare centers, playgrounds, and sports facilities. It is also banned at train stations. There is no official statement from the universities and colleges of Hesse on the topic of smoking weed (Ed. note: as of April 24, 2024).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
